Land-Related Amendment Bill, 2025 presented in parliament

May 14, Kathmandu: The Land-Related Amendment Bill, 2025, aimed at revising several Nepal land-related laws, has been tabled in the House of Representatives.

Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation Ballaram Adhikari presented the bill during the House session.

Initially issued as an ordinance by President Ramchandra Paudel on January 16  following the government’s recommendation, the bill was registered at the Federal Parliament Secretariat on February 1, alongside other ordinances.

However, progress stalled due to a lack of consensus among the ruling coalition parties. The government then decided to advance the bill through regular parliamentary procedures, as outlined in its policy and program. The bill seeks to address key land management issues, aligning with Nepal’s ongoing legislative reforms.
