PM Oli calls for unity and purpose in NRNA at Global Conclave

May 14, Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli urged the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) to maintain unity, dignity, and focus on its core mission.

Speaking during the inauguration of the NRNA Global Conclave in Kathmandu on Wednesday, the PM stressed the importance of eliminating divisive tendencies and personal agendas to strengthen the organisation’s commitment to Nepali diaspora interests and cultural preservation.

PM Oli expressed concern that internal conflicts and manipulations for individual gain were inappropriate for a platform like NRNA, noting that such actions, including amending the constitution for personal benefit or engaging in violence during conventions, harmed the organisation’s reputation.

He encouraged members to foster unity, engage in rational dialogue, and uphold the association’s goals of promoting Nepali culture, supporting diaspora welfare, and contributing to Nepal’s development, while avoiding partisan politics.

The Prime Minister voiced confidence in the leadership of NRNA’s current president, Dr. Badri KC, to hold a democratic and lawful convention for a smooth leadership transition. He also pledged that the government would work on amending laws related to non-resident Nepalis based on suggestions received, ensuring support for initiatives aligned with NRNA’s objectives.
