National poet Ghimire’s contribution incomparable: President Paudel
Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel has said that the contribution of veteran poet Madhav Prasad Ghimire, also known as the national poet of Nepal, to the development of Nepali language and literature is unparalleled.
Addressing an award distribution ceremony organized by the Marsyangdi Literary Academy on the occasion of the 105th birth anniversary of National Poet Ghimire, President Paudel said Ghimire’s literary creations not only highlight the experience of Nepali people’s life, nature, culture and human sensibilities but also contributes to enriching language, literature and enhancing our sense of national self-respect.
He expressed the view that art, language, literature and culture are the reflection of civilized and cultured society.
The President noted that the pride and identity of our country lie in linguistic and cultural diversity as well as geographical diversity.
He also lauded the role played by the Masryangdi Literary Academy for the development of the country’s language, art, literature, culture and education of Lamjung.
On the occasion, President Paudel presented this year’s Rastrakabi Madhav Prasad Ghimire Award to senior lyricist Kiran Kharel.
The award carries a purse of Rs. 100,000 along with a certificate of appreciation.
