The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has directed airport authorities to establish and upgrade breastfeeding and childcare facilities, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and privacy for passengers.

The ministry has also asked for the operation of primary care rooms for passengers and patients with special needs. In addition, it has instructed airports to maintain cleanliness in line with international standards and introduce a daily cleaning logbook system.

The directive requires compliance with health standards set by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). It also calls for the availability of free sanitary pads in airport toilets for female passengers.

Secretary Mukunda Prasad Niraula has directed concerned bodies to implement the instructions immediately and report progress to the ministry, including updates on compliance for public information.
