Ministry effortful to upgrade technology of Radio Nepal and Nepal Television : Minister Sharma

Kathmandu: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma Minister Sharma says the ministry has initiated the works to upgrade the technology of Radio Nepal and Nepal Television.

During her inspection visit to Radio Nepal’s FM relay Station at Bagnaskali-Municipality 9 in Palpa, Minister Sharma said Radio Nepal’s broadcasting was able to create a good impression in the area despite limited resources and means.

Radio Nepal has been broadcasting by using the building and other infrastructure of Nepal Television. The Communication Minister also asked local governments to take initiatives for solving the problems relating to the broadcast services in remote areas.

She said that the initiative must be taken from the province and centre level in case of failure from municipal level. On the occasion, Radio Nepal’s Executive Director Buddhi Bahadur KC said the broadcast reach of Radio Nepal has covered 93 % terrain of Nepal, including Palpa’s Bagnaskali and Rukum West’s Jantibasney Lek.

Executive Director KC said the aim of Radio Nepal is to make the broadcast accessibility to all terrains. Radio Nepal expanded its broadcast by establishing a relay Station in Bagnas on the 26 th of January. With this, Radio Nepal is clearly audible, in Palpa, entire Syangja, Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Rupandehi, Baglung, Parbat, through F.M. Band 103 M.Hz.
