U.S. Embassy’s ‘GOAL! USA’ football tournament bringing players together across Nepal

KATHMANDU, May 9: The U.S. Embassy Nepal, in partnership with Xtreme Energy Drink, has been organizing “GOAL! USA,” a nationwide football tournament ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The event aims to engage Nepali youth through football while celebrating 250 years of American independence and the upcoming World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The tournament feature challenges including Fastest Shot, Dribble Maze, Crossbar Challenge and Freestyle Demos.

Events took in Biratnagar on May 8, and will take place Surkhet on May 16, Bhairahawa on May 23, and Pokhara on June 5.

Top performers from each city will advance to the June 12 grand finale at the ANFA Ground, where they will play alongside celebrities and national football players.

Participation is free, with registration open from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at each venue.
