810 Illegal Huts Demolished Along Manohara River in Bhaktapur
Bhaktapur, April 27: Authorities have completed the demolition of all illegal huts built along the Manohara riverbank on the Kathmandu–Bhaktapur border.
According to Superintendent of Police Surya Bahadur Khadka, a total of 810 huts were cleared from the Lokanthali and Jadibuti areas of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-1.
Security personnel, supported by heavy machinery, carried out the operation on Sunday. A total of 24 dozers were deployed to dismantle the structures.
During the clearance drive, all huts in the area were removed, including a community school built within the settlement.
Informal settlers had long occupied the Manohara riverside, and authorities say the area has now been fully cleared following the operation.
