KMC Projects Income and Expenditure for Next Three Years

Kathmandu, Jan 14: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has prepared projections of its income and expenditure for the next three fiscal years, outlining expected revenue growth and spending patterns.

The projections were made during a meeting chaired by KMC Deputy Mayor and Revenue Advisory Committee Coordinator Sunita Dangol. The meeting reviewed internal revenue sources, revenue sectors, their potential scope, and past expenditure trends before finalizing the estimates.

According to the projections, KMC’s income is estimated at Rs 15.1 billion for fiscal year 2083/84, Rs 15.5 billion for FY 2084/85, and Rs 15.9 billion for FY 2085/86.

KMC’s actual income in FY 2081/82 stood at Rs 10.74 billion. For the current fiscal year, the metropolis has set a revenue target of Rs 15.11 billion, of which Rs 5.69 billion has been collected so far.

On the expenditure front, KMC has projected spending of Rs 27.62 billion in FY 2083/84, Rs 30.38 billion in FY 2084/85, and Rs 33.42 billion in FY 2085/86.

Officials said the projections would help the metropolitan city plan its finances more effectively and align future development priorities with available resources.
