According to meteorologist Rojan Lamichhane from the Department’s Weather Forecasting Division, the current weather pattern is being influenced by a westerly low-pressure system along with local winds, which is expected to intensify from Wednesday.

He warned of the possibility of heavy rainfall or snowfall at one or two locations, particularly in hilly and mountainous regions. The impact is already more pronounced in western Nepal and is expected to extend to Kathmandu by the afternoon.

Similar weather conditions are also expected in parts of the Tarai, including Madhesh Province.

The Department has also indicated the likelihood of heavy rain and snowfall in one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces. Strong winds may also affect some hilly and Tarai areas of Madhesh, Lumbini, Gandaki, Bagmati and Koshi provinces.
