Minister Khadka meets his Indian counterpart, Minister Patil
Kathmandu, Feb 13: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Dipak Khadka, and Indian Minister for Jal Shakti, CR Patil, held a meeting in New Delhi today. Energy Minister Khadka is in New Delhi to attend the India Energy Week-2025.
During the meeting, an agreement was reached to move forward with the Pancheshwor Multipurpose Project by completing the detailed project report (DPR) soon, according to Prabal Adhikari, senior energy expert at the Ministry of Energy.
On this occasion, discussions were held to organize a meeting of the joint committee from March 22-24 to manage floods and inundation.
Both countries agreed to continue discussions through bilateral meetings regarding the DPR of the Saptakoshi Multipurpose Project.
Minister Khadka recalled that the meeting and discussions held on November 5 had further encouraged the advancement of important activities in the water resources sector through collaboration between the two countries.
Similarly, Minister Patil mentioned that the Indian government was positive about finalizing the DPR of the Pancheshwor Multipurpose Project and moving forward with the project soon.
Present at the meeting were the Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Suresh Acharya, senior energy expert Prabal Adhikari, Joint-Secretary Sandip Kumar Dev, Economic Advisor to the Minister Amit Shrestha from Nepal’s side, as well as high-ranking officials from the Indian side.
