Action-plan for reforms in health insurance presented to PM Oli
Kathmandu: Minister for Health and Population Pradip Paudel here today presented an action plan aimed at reforming the government’s health insurance scheme to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
The action plan including a report was prepared under the leadership of Dr Dipendra Raman Singh, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population, according to Minister Paudel’s Secretariat.
The Council of Ministers will decide on the health insurance reform bid based on the proposed action plans, added the Secretariat. The Ministry is currently working to increase insurance coverage to Rs 500,000.
The report presented to PM Oli outlines the basis for expanding the insurance coverage up to Rs 500,000.
The Ministry is preparing to propose an amendment to the Health Insurance Act in the upcoming winter session of the parliament provided the cabinet endorses the proposal.
