CPN (Maoist Centre) selects Dr Shiva Sharan Maharjan for Kirtipur mayoral by-election

November 5, Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Center) has selected Dr Shiva Sharan Maharjan as its mayoral candidate for the upcoming by-elections in Kirtipur Municipality.

Dr Maharjan, a prominent figure in the social and educational sectors, is a former Head of the Central Department of Education at Tribhuvan University, a former member of the University Grants Commission, and has held leadership positions in various educational institutions including Kirtipur Transport Service Company, Kirtipur  Drinking Water Management, and several schools and colleges.

Additionally, the party has nominated Astaman Maharjan as the ward chair candidate for Ward 1 and Narayan Bista for Ward 4.

The by-electiones are scheduled for December to fill the vacancies created after the demise of Mayor Rajkumar Nakarmi and ward chairs of Ward 1 and Ward 4.
