Bhojpur homicide: All four dead bodies brought to District Hospital
Taksar: The bodies of those four members of a family murdered en masse at Dhodlekhani of Ram Prasad rural municipality-2 in Bhojpur district have been brought to the District Hospital for post-mortem.
The lifeless bodies were brought to the Hospital for autopsy after police prepared a report on the incident site. Four members of a family were brutally murdered by a member within the family on Saturday midnight.
The preliminary investigation of the police revealed that Rajendra Rai, 30, of Bhojpur municipality-2, killed his 16-year-old wife Manisha Giri, 68-year-old father-in-law Bel Bahadur Giri and 45-year-old mother-in-law Manju Giri and 9-year-old brother-in-law Sapan Giri, according to the District Police Office, Bhojpur.
Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Bhojpur, Deepak Shrestha, shared that Rai himself called the police control room at midnight and confessed the crime.
Accused Rai was found with deep abdominal injury. After receiving initial medical treatment at the District Hospital in Bhojpur, Rai was referred to Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for further treatment.
Police report revealed that Rajendra and Manisha had a love marriage some nine months ago. Manisha had been staying in her natal home for some time following the dispute with spouse. It was reported that Rajendra had been to his wife’s natal home to bring her back before the tragic incident occurred. Police have been investigating the case.
The deceased Giri couple, Bel Bahadur and Manju, are survived by three sons and a daughter who are currently residing in Kathmandu. Their final rites will be performed after their children arrive in Bhojpur, police said.
