UAE Red Crescent distributes relief materials to survivors of rain-induced disasters
October 3, Kathmandu: A delegation from the UAE Red Crescent has provided relief materials to the survivors of rain-induced disasters, such as floods, landslides, and inundations, in various parts of the country.
UAE Red Crescent made the distribution in cooperation and coordination with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Kathmandu and with the assistance of different bodies under the Government of Nepal.
Approximately 20,000 food packs, 7,300 medical kits and 4,236 tarpaulins were distributed in various parts of the country including Kailali, Kanchanpur, Banke, Bardiya, Kapilvastu, Morang, Sunseri, Saptari, Mahottri, Rautahat and Parsa districts.
According to the delegation, the UAE government always stand with Nepal in difficult situations by providing humanitarian assistance in disasters that Nepal suffers from time to time due to its geographical location, mountainous terrain, climate change, and weather fluctuations.
“The continual support of the UAE government to the government and people of Nepalis indicative of the strong friendly relationship between the two countries,” reads a press statement issued by the delegation.
The delegation said this aid was the first dispatch and it would be followed soon by other dispatches.
