Speaker Ghimire says parliament committed to share all sorts of news except those prohibited by law

August 19, Kathmandu: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has said parliament is committed to share all sorts of news except those prohibited by law.

During an interaction organized by the federal parliament on ‘parliament-media relations’ on Friday, Speaker Ghimire, said one needs to be aware of limitation of information receiving.

Speaker Ghimire said that information seeking and sharing are linked to democracy and public concern.

On a different note, Speaker Ghimire said parliament should be promoted as a place to resolve different sorts of problems facing the country.

He called on both the ruling and opposition parties to be flexible and serious for resuming stalled parliament meetings.

Similarly, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana viewed journalism is a challenging job.

Director General at parliament secretariat, Dr Bharat Raj Gautam, informed that they were active to listen to journalists’ problems relating to secretariat’s service delivery.
