New passageway at Krishnabhir opened

Narayangadh (Chitwan): A successful test run was conducted today on the newly constructed roadway at Krishnabhir along the Prithvi Highway.

It may be noted that the highway was completely shut down after the road caved-in due to floods in the Trishuli river. According to Engineer Sachendra Mishra, Information Officer for the Nagdhunga-Muglin Road Project (Western Section), the initial phase of testing involved operating an empty gas bullet tanker after the grading of the new track was completed.

He stated that other vehicles were allowed to pass sequentially once the initial test proved successful. Currently, vehicles were operated on the new track today solely for testing purposes. The test was conducted after the grading of the new track was completed after cutting into the hillside.

Regular vehicular movement is likely to be possible within three days after the new track is fully equipped with a side drain. According to Information Officer Mishra, the new track is approximately 252 meters long.

The road is seven meters wide, and the drainage channel is one meter wide. The new track is situated at an elevation five to ten meters higher than the section of the old road.
