The team was updated on the status of survivors and ongoing rescue and relief efforts, according to UML Secretary and Bagmati Province in-charge Mahesh Basnet.

The UML has formed a 40-member squad led by Basnet to assist in rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts in the aftermath of the devastating flood that struck Nepal on August 26.

The party has also announced to chip in Rs 12 million to the government’s disaster relief fund. The floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river systems had caused significant loss of life and property in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Chitwan districts.
