Bhotekoshi Flood: One Rescued Alive from Trishuli-3 ‘A’ Hydropower Project Tunnel

Kathmandu: A person trapped inside the tunnel of the Trishuli-3 ‘A’ Hydropower Project has been rescued alive, ten days after the devastating flood that struck the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on August 26.

According to an engineer involved in the search and rescue operation, one person was rescued alive from inside the tunnel.

Sanjay Shah, a mechanical foreman at the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), was successfully rescued after being trapped inside the tunnel for ten days.

During the search and rescue operation this morning, signs were detected indicating that the sound of a person had been heard from inside the tunnel.

Nepal Army and Armed Police Force teams have been mobilized to search for and rescue other people who may still be trapped inside the tunnel. The rescue operation is ongoing.
