Heavy Rain Likely in Hilly Areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces today
Kathmandu: The monsoon remains active across Nepal, bringing rainfall to several parts of the country. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, light to moderate rain has been reported in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as some areas of Koshi, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces. Isolated rainfall has also been recorded in Madhes Province.
The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. Moderate rainfall, snowfall, thunder and lightning are likely in the Himalayan region, while many hilly areas may also receive rain.
Some Terai areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces are also likely to experience moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division has warned of heavy rainfall at a few places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.
Cloudy conditions are expected to continue into the night, with chances of moderate rain and snowfall in mountainous areas along with thunder and lightning. Moderate rainfall is also likely in several hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki, and at some places in Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.
The Division has urged people in areas vulnerable to heavy rainfall to remain alert and take necessary precautions, particularly against possible floods, landslides and disruptions to road transport.
