Marketing monitoring intensified in districts to curb black marketing of cooking gas

Kathmandu: The monitoring of cooking gas has been intensified in districts in view of the black marketing reported by the consumers.

The district administration offices and the police along with the stakeholders carried out the market monitoring in Dhankuta and Rasuwa districts on Saturday and Sunday.

Although there is no problem in import of cooking gas from India, a sudden shortage was created, thereby panicking consumers. As complaints of black marketing were received regularly, strict inspection in market was forwarded.

In Dhankuta, marketing monitoring was carried out under the leadership of Assistant Chief District Officer Lekhnath Neupane along with the Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, Hemanta Bhandari.

After the market monitoring, Assistant Chief District Officer Neupane said that there was a limited stock of cooking gas in the dealers due to short supplies from the gas companies. During the market monitoring, the retailers and sellers have been asked to sale and distribute the cooking gas by giving priority to household users.
