Morocco Marks National Day in Kathmandu, Focuses on Stronger Nepal Ties

Kathmandu, Aug. 3: Morocco’s National Day was celebrated in Kathmandu with a series of events highlighting the 27th anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne and reaffirming the growing friendship between Morocco and Nepal.

A special dinner reception hosted by the Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Nepal brought together senior government officials, diplomats, business leaders, and media representatives. Among those attending were Moroccan Ambassador to Nepal and India Mohamed Maliki and Joint Secretary at Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ramkaji Khadka.

The event featured discussions on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and tourism, with participants expressing confidence that greater cultural exchanges would further strengthen bilateral relations.

As part of the celebrations, Ambassador Maliki and Consul General Megha Chaudhary jointly hoisted the Moroccan national flag at the Consul General’s office in Thapathali.

Speaking on the occasion, Consul General Chaudhary highlighted the importance of promoting Morocco’s culture, art, and tourism in Nepal to deepen people-to-people ties and enhance mutual understanding between the two countries.

Chaudhary, who assumed office as Honorary Consul General in February, also serves as Co-Chairman of BLC Global Holdings Pvt. Ltd.

The celebration underscored the shared commitment of Nepal and Morocco to strengthening diplomatic, economic, and cultural cooperation.
