1,500 e-passports printed daily, stabilization of system in three months

Kathmandu: The Department of Passport has augmented its production capacity to address the increasing demand for e-passports.

Currently, it is printing about 1,500 passports every day. The Department said it saw growing pressure from service seekers, especially in the wake of an increasing number of Nepalis going for employment in South Korea in recent times.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, the Department mentioned that it has been relentlessly improving the service and passport production capacity with the aim of providing e-passports to Nepali citizens in a convenient, prompt, secure and effective manner.
