Shahi appointed Karnali Province Chief Minister

Karnali: Nepali Communist Party (NCP)’s Karnali Province Assembly party leader, Mangal Bahadur Shahi, has been appointed Chief Minister of Karnali Province.

Karnali Province Chief Yagya Raj Joshi appointed Shahi to the post in accordance with Article 168 (2) of the Constitution, shared Manmaya Kaucha, Information Officer at the Office of the Province Chief. Shahi had presented his claim for the position before Province Chief Joshi at 5:00 pm today with support from the CPN (UML).

Chief Minister Shahi is scheduled to take the oath on Wednesday, added Kaucha. It may be noted that a consensus on power-sharing had been reached between the CPN (UML) and NCP on July 25.
