RSP Chair Lamichhane appeals to exercise restrain in critical time
Kathmandu: Chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rabi Lamichhane, has appealed to one and all to maintain peace, restraint, and social harmony, expressing profound sorrow over the recent incident in eastern districts, including Sunsari.

In a statement on Tuesday, Chairperson Lamichhane offered tribute to a person who lost his life during the tragic incident, and extended condolences to the bereaved family members. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the citizens and security personnel who sustained injuries in the fatal incident.
Lamichhane directed all local committee members of RSP to discharge a supportive role in maintaining harmony. Stating that any riddle, dissatisfaction or dispute could in no way be resolved through violence and confrontation, Chairperson Lamichhane urged the general public, civil leaders, religious and social personalities and stakeholders not to conduct or allow any activities disrupting plural cultural values, mutual unity, tolerance and social harmony.
He also called for all to exercise a higher level of restraint without being carried away by rumours in the difficult time.
“We are in continuous coordination with the government and local administration to maintain law and order, protect citizens’ lives and properties and normalise the situation in these sensitive hours without any delay,” reads the statement.
Chair Lamichhane drew the government’s attention to take legal action against the guilty by carrying out a fair, impartial and rapid investigation into the incident and rendering appropriate justice and relief to the victim’s side.
