Madhesh Province collects Rs 32.9 billion in revenue
Janakpurdham: The Madhesh Province Government has achieved around 70 percent of its revenue target for the fiscal year 2082/83, collecting approximately Rs 32.89 billion, according to the Ministry of Finance.
Data Officer Rajendra Acharya said the province generated about Rs 5.77 billion in internal revenue. Of this, Rs 1.78 billion came from house and land registration, while Rs 2.28 billion was collected through vehicle taxes.
During the last fiscal year, the province collected around Rs 79 million from driving licence issuance and vehicle registration fees, and about Rs 12 million from other transport-related sources.
The province also received Rs 8.86 billion as its share of value-added tax and Rs 3.20 billion from internal taxes.
In addition, the federal government provided Rs 7.03 billion in fiscal equalisation grants, Rs 2.17 billion in conditional grants, and Rs 1.56 billion in conditional capital grants, Acharya said.
