Janakpurdham Unveils Rs 2.65 Billion Budget, Prioritises Tourism and Urban Development

Janakpurdham, July 14: Janakpurdham Sub-metropolitan City has announced its policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2083/84, with a strong focus on tourism promotion, urban beautification and infrastructure development.

Presenting the policies and programmes at the 15th Municipal Assembly on Monday, Mayor Manoj Kumar Sah said the local government aims to transform Janakpurdham into a clean, attractive and prosperous city by expanding tourism infrastructure and improving public services.

The municipality has also identified education, health and infrastructure as key priority sectors, while committing to complete ongoing development projects during the new fiscal year.

Alongside the policy announcement, the Sub-metropolitan City unveiled a Rs 2.65 billion budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Ward No. 16 Chair Ram Chandra Panjiyar presented the budget, allocating Rs 1.42 billion for recurrent expenditure and Rs 1.22 billion for capital expenditure.

Sector-wise, the budget earmarks Rs 59 million for economic development, Rs 832 million for social development, Rs 912 million for infrastructure projects, Rs 317 million for governance and related sectors, and Rs 530 million for office management and administrative expenses.
