Mother and 4 year old son killed in elephant attack in Chitwan

Chitwan, July 5: A mother and her four-year-old son were killed after a wild elephant attacked their home in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-23, Belhatta, on Saturday night.

Police identified the victims as 25-year-old Ashika Bote and her son, Bharat. Both died on the spot after the elephant entered their house while they were asleep.

According to police, Ashika’s husband, Poorna Bote, tried to drive the elephant away by lighting a fire. However, the flames spread and set their mud house on fire.

The fire was later brought under control with the help of residents and police personnel.
