Literature still key to understanding human civilisation in digital era: Minister Dr Timilsina
Kathmandu: Communication Minister Dr Bikram Timilsina has said literature remains one of the most powerful tools for understanding human civilisation , even in an age driven by AI and digital technology.

Speaking at the Himalayan Literature Festival and Writers’ Workshop 2026 in Kathmandu, he said literature connects people with emotion, reflection, and human relationships.
He noted that despite rapid technological change, people continue to search for meaning, identity, and hope, making literature even more important.
The Minister also highlighted Nepal’s cultural and linguistic diversity, saying literature, folklore, and storytelling strengthen national identity.
He stressed that writers and artists play a key role in shaping society’s inner life alongside economic and institutional development.
