Dairy farmers from Patna in Chitwan to study about dairy production

Chitwan: A group of dairy farmers from Patna, India, has arrived here to learn about the production of dairy products and their distribution system.

The Dairy Farmers Group, under the leadership of the Chairperson of Sudha Dairy of Patna, Sanjay Kumar, arrived to enquire about the status of milk production, dairy production and its consumption in Chitwan. Chairperson of Dairy Producers Cooperatives Association, Chitwan, Kishor Bagale, briefed the team about good practices in dairy farming in the district and its market.

Chitwan district produces around 350,000 litres of milk daily. The team carried out a study visit to two dairy industries, the dairy mart run by the Association, as well as other related places in the district.

On the occasion, Sanjay Kumar shared that milk was produced and distributed systematically in the district, adding that the systematic distribution of dairy products has made it easier to ensure the rights of general consumers.

Meanwhile, Ratnanagar municipality here has been developed as a pocket area for breeding of cows and milk production.

The District Livestock Service Office, Chitwan, handed over necessary materials to develop the municipality as a pocket area under the ‘one district one special pocket area’ programme.

The office on Monday handed over 12 different types of equipment worth over Rs 3.5 million, including cow mats, milk cans, motor, milk analysers, and chaff cutters.
