The HoR Members have urged the government to address the issues caused by incessant rains, rising prices of daily essentials and unemployment. NC lawmaker Basana Thapa said that the upcoming fiscal year’s budget unveiled on Friday failed to prioritise education, health and employment in Karnali.

Likewise, lawmaker Bishwaraj Pokharel welcomed the budget provision offering up to 40 percent subsidy to farmers investing Rs 20 million to start an agricultural business, adding that Rs 20 million was a huge investment for farmers in the rural areas.

Bharat Kumar Swar demanded that the 295 km-long Tikapur–Taklakot Mansarovar section of the Seti Highway be included as a national pride project in the upcoming budget.

Man Maya BK called on the government to make residential school arrangements for the children from the Dalit communities, especially the Madhesi Dalit community, as they have been deprived of education due to poverty and are in a desperate situation.

Other lawmakers sharing their views in today’s zero hour of the HoR meeting included Bharat Giri, Bhumika Limbu Subba, Bhim Kumar Budhamagar, Bidushi Rana, Balawati Sharma, Manish Khanal, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, Matrika Prasad Yadav, Madhav Bahadur Thapa, Mohan Acharya and others.
