Vice President Yadav meets Israeli Ambassador Bass, discusses bilateral cooperation

May 15, Kathmandu: Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav held a courtesy meeting with Israel’s Ambassador to Nepal, Shmulik Arie Bass, at the Vice President’s Office in Lainchaur on Friday, where the two sides discussed Nepal–Israel bilateral relations, economic cooperation, labour migration, education, and technical training.

During the meeting, Vice President Yadav said diplomatic ties between Nepal and Israel, established in 1960, have continued to strengthen through mutual respect, friendship, and cooperation.

He highlighted the significant potential for collaboration in trade, tourism, investment, and agriculture, expressing confidence that stronger partnerships could bring mutual benefits to both nations.

The Vice President thanked the Israeli government for providing employment opportunities to Nepali workers and appreciated Israel’s continued support in scholarships, vocational training, and capacity-building programs for Nepali students and professionals.

He noted that cooperation in agricultural technology, research, and innovation could play a transformative role in modernizing Nepal’s agricultural sector and enhancing food security.

Ambassador Bass reaffirmed Israel’s willingness to support Nepal in areas such as agriculture, beekeeping, fisheries, and technical assistance.

He also emphasised that many Nepalis have benefited from Israel’s “Learn and Earn” program and said Israel remains committed to creating more employment and skill-development opportunities for Nepali citizens in the future.
