One killed in road accident in Itahari

Inaruwa, April 28: A person died in a road accident at Itahari Sub-Metropolis-5 of Sunsari district last night.

According to police, Raj Biren Urau, 35, of Bhokraha Rural Municipality-6, was seriously injured after being hit by a scooter (Ko 2 Pa 4589) at the Kalanki section along the East-West Highway in Itahari.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bahadur Khadka said Urau was rushed to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for treatment after the accident.

He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
