Police urge restraint on misleading reports about ongoing investigations
Kathmandu, April 14: The District Police Range, Kathmandu, has urged all concerned not to publish or broadcast misleading and unverified information related to ongoing investigations.
Spokesperson of the Range, Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, said investigations are being carried out against former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak in line with orders from the Supreme Court of Nepal and directives of the District Government Attorney’s Office, Kathmandu.
In a press statement issued on Monday, the police said their attention had been drawn to various opinions and information circulating on social media platforms, including YouTube.
The statement clarified that the investigation is being conducted independently and in accordance with the law, with legal guidance from the Government Attorney’s Office. The police have requested media outlets and the public to refrain from sharing unverified information regarding the case.
