Man Arrested for Assaulting Senior Citizen in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, April 8 – Police have arrested a man for physically assaulting a senior citizen in a public area, following widespread outrage over a viral video.

The District Police Range, Kathmandu, apprehended 44-year-old Prakash Chhetri from Thankot, Chandragiri Municipality. The footage showing Chhetri’s violent act at Basantapur Durbar Square quickly circulated on social media, drawing public attention.

Chhetri is currently under investigation for indecent behaviour and has been detained for five days, the police confirmed.
