Department spokesperson at the Kathmandu Police, Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, said that after a video showing the French national stranded at Pashupatinath was made public, a police team traced him and handed him over to the department.
“After the video showing the French citizen in a helpless condition was made public, it came to light during our inquiry that none of his belongings was stolen or looted, so we handed him over to the Department”.
Similarly, the police indicated that the French citizen had been living in Nepal for the past six years with his Nepali spouse, and they had left their passports, mobile phone, laptop, and other belongings at the hotel they were staying at due to financial reasons.
