Child dies after being hit by reversing bus in Chitwan

Chitwan, April 5: A 10-year-old child died after being struck by a bus in Bharatpur Metropolitan City–3 on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as Ires Ghosle, an Indian national residing at Nagarban Road in Bharatpur.

According to police, the incident occurred when a bus (Ba.Pra. 06001 Kha 0492), reportedly being handled by the assistant driver, hit the child while reversing for parking. Ghosle sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Bharatpur Hospital, where he later died during treatment.

Police have impounded the bus and taken the assistant driver into custody for further investigation. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Khanal of the District Police Office, Chitwan, said necessary legal action is being carried out.
