Senior-most HoR member Arjun Narsing KC to take oath today
Kathmandu, March 25: President Ramchandra Paudel is scheduled to administer the oath of office and secrecy to the senior-most House of Representatives (HoR) member Arjun Narsing KC today.
The ceremony will be held at the President’s Office, Shital Niwas, at 11:15 am. KC, 78, was elected under the proportional representation system from the Nepali Congress in the March 5 election.
After taking the oath, KC will administer the oath of office and secrecy to other newly elected HoR members on Thursday.
The 275-member HoR, the lower house of the Federal Parliament, includes 165 directly elected members and 110 elected through the proportional representation system.
The Rastriya Swatantra Party has emerged as the largest party in the HoR with 182 seats. The Nepali Congress is the second-largest party with 38 seats, while CPN-UML holds 25 seats.
