APF Club Registers Dominant 71-Run Victory in PM Cup Cricket
Kathmandu, March 22 — Nepal APF Club secured a convincing 71-run win over Bagmati Province in the Prime Minister’s Cup One-Day Men’s National Cricket Tournament on Sunday.
Playing at Mulpani Cricket Ground in Kathmandu, APF set a competitive target of 272 runs. In response, Bagmati Province was bowled out for 200 runs in 45.1 overs, falling short despite a steady effort from their middle order.
For Bagmati, Bibek Magar top-scored with 34 runs, while Subash Khatri added 27 and Uttam Magar contributed 26. Rijan Dhakal remained unbeaten on 20.
APF’s innings was powered by a century from Asif Sheikh, who scored 141 runs. He was well supported by Sandeep Jora with 52 runs, while Lokesh Bam chipped in with 29. Yubraj Khatri remained not out on 26, and captain Rohit Paudel added nine runs.
The ongoing tournament, which began on Saturday, features three departmental sides—Nepal Police Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, and APF—alongside teams from seven provinces.
The tournament winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 1 million, while the runner-up will be awarded Rs 500,000.
