UML Vice-Chairman Paudel calls for party reforms after election defeat

Kathmandu: Bishnu Prasad Paudel, Vice-Chairman of the CPN-UML and former Finance Minister, has appealed for changes in the party’s policies, leadership, organization, and working style to meet the expectations of the people.

Paudel, who was defeated in Rupandehi Constituency No. 2, urged the party to seriously review past mistakes and shortcomings and transform itself in line with public expectations.

He said democracy reflects the people’s will and that he humbly accepts the decision of the voters. Paudel congratulated the winning candidate from the National Independent Party and wished him success in fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Rupandehi.

He also thanked voters who supported him and expressed respect for all who voted, regardless of the election symbol they chose.
