Saudi leadership extends Democracy Day greetings to Nepal

February 19, Kathmandu: Nepal marked its National Democracy Day on Thursday, with international leaders sending congratulatory messages on the occasion.

King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has sent a cable of congratulations to President Ramchandra Paudel on the occasion of Nepal’s Democracy Day.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, King Salman wished President Paudel continued good health and happiness, and expressed hopes for steady progress and prosperity for the government and people of Nepal.

Likewise, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman also sent a separate message of congratulations to President Paudel, extending similar best wishes on the occasion.

National Democracy Day commemorates the establishment of democracy in Nepal in 1951, following the end of the Rana regime.
