President Paudel attends Nepali Army ceremony on Mahashivaratri

Kathmandu: President Ram Chandra Paudel attended a special ceremony organized by the Nepali Army at the Army Pavilion, Tundikhel, on the occasion of Mahashivaratri and the 263rd anniversary of the army’s establishment. First Lady Sabita Poudel also attended the event on Sunday morning.

As Supreme Commander of the Nepali Army, President Paudel received a ceremonial salute and laid a wreath at the military memorial. The event featured marching passes, demonstrations of battle skills, musical and dance performances, and displays of traditional costumes.

During the program, President Paudel released the Nepali Army’s Soldier Magazine and presented awards to top performers. Military vehicles, equipment, and weapons used in peacekeeping missions were also showcased. The army performed a Mahashivaratri rifle and cannon salute, a helicopter floral tribute, and an elaborate parade.

President Paudel presented gifts to the band leaders of friendly countries, including India, Britain, and the United States. The ceremony was attended by Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal, ministers, diplomats, the Chief of Army Staff, and other dignitaries.
