NA lawmakers urge government to ensure fearless, fair elections

Kathmandu: Lawmakers in the National Assembly have drawn the government’s attention to ensuring that the elections scheduled for March 5 are held in a fearless and fair manner.

Speaking at today’s meeting, they said violations of the election code of conduct have created fear among people and political parties, and urged the government to stop such practices.

Lawmakers also called on voters to act responsibly and choose the right candidates to safeguard national sovereignty.

They further raised concerns over damage to physical property, failure to protect cultural heritage, and the government’s handling of recent Gen Z movement protests, stressing the need for accountability and constructive debate to move the country forward.
