Special vigilance on candidate security for HoR elections

Kathmandu: With the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5, security agencies have been placed on high alert to ensure the safety of all candidates, including independent ones.

Spokesperson Anand Kafle of the Ministry of Home Affairs said an integrated security plan is in place, allowing candidates to carry out election activities according to the Election Commission’s code of conduct without concern.

Nepal Police has set up 93 election cells from the center to district level and deployed special teams to monitor and respond to any suspicious activity. The Ministry added that ongoing efforts have strengthened peace and security nationwide, ensuring the elections will be conducted peacefully, fairly, and without fear.
