Kathmandu, Jan 9: Minister for Children, Women and Senior Citizens Shradha Shrestha has called on all eligible voters to take part in the upcoming House of Representatives election on March 5.
She made the appeal while inaugurating the 35th central assembly of the Nepal Cancer Relief Society (NCRS) on Friday, emphasizing that the election, held under special circumstances, is crucial for the country’s future. Minister Shrestha urged everyone to contribute to a peaceful and fearless electoral environment.
Highlighting the interim government’s focus on conducting the elections, she said, “Everyone’s active participation is essential for March 5. All voters must be able to exercise their franchise freely.” She added, “We should vote keeping in mind the future of our children. I urge citizens to use their discretion so that future generations do not face violence again.”
During the assembly, NCRS Chairperson Mahesh Shrestha noted discussions on raising awareness about cancer, planning treatment initiatives, and prioritizing the work of organizations supporting cancer patients.
Founded in 1982, the NCRS is a nationwide non-profit, community-based organization with branches in 48 districts, working to prevent and control cancer in Nepal.
