Darshana Shrestha Elected President of FWEAN
Lalitpur, Dec 22 — The Federation of Women Entrepreneurs’ Association Nepal (FWEAN) has elected Darshana Shrestha as its new president, forming a 25-member executive committee during the organization’s 10th General Assembly.
The federation held its 22nd Annual General Meeting and 10th General Assembly in Lalitpur on Sunday. FWEAN, a leading national body representing women entrepreneurs, has been working to promote entrepreneurship and strengthen the socio-economic empowerment of women since its establishment.
Over the years, the federation has expanded its network to all 77 districts of Nepal and currently represents more than 5,500 women entrepreneurs across the country.
The annual general meeting was chaired by outgoing President Shobha Gyawali, who highlighted the federation’s major programmes, achievements, and challenges during her tenure.
At the meeting, General Secretary Kunnam Pokharel presented the annual progress report for the fiscal year 2081/082, while Treasurer Savita Subedi tabled the financial report.
With the election of the new leadership, FWEAN aims to further strengthen its role in supporting women-led enterprises and advancing inclusive economic growth nationwide.
