European Union Film Festival Nepal 2025: Celebrating cinema across cultures

November 10, Kathmandu: The 14th European Union Film Festival (EUFF) Nepal 2025 has arrived, showcasing the best of European and Nepali cinema. Organised by the Delegation of the European Union to Nepal, the festival celebrates the power of storytelling in bridging cultures and fostering dialogue.
This year’s festival features 25 films in total, including 10 European feature films, 6 BAFTA-nominated shorts, and 9 Nepali short films. It offers a rich selection of films that highlight shared human experiences and global perspectives, with stories ranging from contemporary European dramas to locally-produced Nepali shorts.
The festival will kick off with its opening ceremony on Friday, 14 November, at QFX Cinemas, Civil Mall in Kathmandu. The festival will continue with free public screenings at Chhaya Centre, Thamel on 15–16 November, giving the general public the opportunity to watch these international films. The festival will also travel to Pokhara, where screenings will take place on 22–23 November, extending the reach of this cinematic celebration to more audiences across Nepal.
The EUFF Nepal 2025 remains a crucial platform for promoting cultural exchange between Europe and Nepal. It brings together filmmakers, audiences, and communities, fostering mutual understanding through the universal language of cinema.
