Government to implement special strategic plan to ensure peaceful elections

Kathmandu: The Central Security Committee under the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to move forward with a special strategic plan aimed at creating a favourable environment for upcoming elections and ensuring peace and security across the country.

The committee meeting, chaired by Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, decided to mobilise all subordinate security agencies to maintain law and order and promote a peaceful atmosphere conducive to the elections.

Following the meeting, Home Minister Aryal informed that the strategic plans formulated in the previous session were reviewed, along with the progress made by the committees formed to address peace and security concerns. Based on this review, the ministry decided to implement the plans through subordinate agencies.

Minister Aryal further stated that the special strategies and action plans for the successful completion of the elections will be executed under the leadership of Chief District Officers (CDOs).

He revealed that around four hundred weapons looted during the Gen Z movement are still missing and that a special campaign will be launched to recover the stolen police weapons before the elections.

Additionally, Minister Aryal said that new programs will be introduced to apprehend escaped prisoners, and necessary directives will be issued to concerned authorities.

The Central Security Committee comprises representatives from the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, the National Investigation Department, as well as the Home Secretary and Defence Secretary.
