Maoist Centre mulls central committee dissolution for special convention
Kathmandu: The CPN (Maoist Centre) has proposed dissolution of its central committee and a special convention.
The party also proposed the convention organizing committee under the coordination of party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
The standing committee meeting of the party held at the party headquarters, Parisdadanda on Wednesday took a decision to this end. Party Vice-Chairman and spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota informed that the decision was taken to maintain unity within the party and in light of the current circumstances developed in the country. The party has called the CC meeting on Thursday to finalize decision on the proposal.
Similarly, the party is for holding dialogue and consensus with democratic and progressive forces, unifying with the socialist front, and taking initiative to build a broader alliance. ‘The situation is changing rapidly. In such circumstances, the conclusion of the meeting is the need of transformative forces for progression,’ Sapkota said.
