Speaker Ghimire returns home

Kathmandu, Aug 3: Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, has returned home today after participating in the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament organised in Geneva of Switzerland.

The Conference was organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union in close collaboration with the United Nations from July 30 to August 2. Speaker Ghimire had left for Geneva on July 27.

At a press conference organised at Tribhuvan International Airport today upon his arrival, Speaker Ghimire shared that discussion was held on various issues in the conference including how could the countries lagging behind due to poverty be moved forward?, how could the challenges be resolved?, how could methods be developed for the operation of governance? and how to run the government.

Similarly, discussion was also held on how to resolve the conflicts and differences emerging in world politics, he added.

On the sideline of the conference, Speaker Ghimire also held bilateral talks with Speakers of different countries including UK, Switzerland, Malta, Israel, and Bhutan.
