Judiciary’s role significant to build a just society: President Paudel

Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel has said the realm of law and justice has a significant responsibility to build a just society in the federal democratic republic governance system.

At a special programme organised here today on the occasion of Law Day, 2082, President Paudel mentioned that the constitution has adopted a federal democratic republic system, freedom of citizens, fundamental rights, human rights, as well as an independent, impartial and competent judiciary.

He shared, ‘I believe that this Day will continuously make all associated with the field of justice and law responsible towards it.’

The President expressed the view that this Day has a special importance in the field of justice and law as work of administering justice per the concept of separation of powers and independent judiciary was initiated practically after the implementation of Chief Justice Act 2008 BS at a time when state’s executive, legislative and judicial rights were being exercised by a single body.

He pointed out the need to provide justice to the people easily and smoothly through the use of modern processes and technology by making new laws and reforms in existing laws as per the sentiments of the constitution and present needs.

President Paudel wished that this Day would help build positive thinking, encourage and inspire all to boost public trust towards the judiciary.
